Myriam Zouaghi-Maulet

Myriam Zouaghi-Maulet, originally from Thonon-les-Bains, discovered her passion for painting at a young age, using it as a means of expression. To further her understanding of the art, she delved into the works of renowned painters, such as Claude Monet, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Paul Cézanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Eugène Delacroix, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, and Hiramatsu Reiji, drawing inspiration from their mastery.

Her artistic journey raises essential questions about the completion of a painting, the viewer’s perspective, and the interpretation of landscapes. Living in the picturesque surroundings of the Eure, where the Vexin Normand light and landscapes, the Seine riverbanks, and chalk cliffs provide endless creative subjects, she finds herself contemplating the right light and technique for her work. The serene beauty of Lake Geneva and the captivating Belle Epoque boats of the Swiss fleet offer a wellspring of marine inspiration.

Myriam’s experiences as an artist involve thorough study of her subjects before commencing her paintings, as demonstrated in the “A Moment of Nature” exhibition, where the Epte river takes center stage. She values photographic support as a precious tool, which enables her to paint with confidence, shielded from the whims of changing light and weather. She greatly admires painters who work directly from nature and embrace the elements.

In her commitment to art education, Myriam has spent over a decade working in schools, recognizing the importance of connecting with children and leading visual arts workshops.

Myriam Zouaghi-Maulet embodies an artist deeply rooted in her surroundings, continuously seeking inspiration from the world’s natural beauty and master painters, while also dedicating herself to sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation through art education.
