Francesco Grillo

Francesco Grillo

About me:

I’m Francesco Grillo. In 1999 I obtained my Graduation with honors at the Accademia of Belle Arti in Foggia – Italy. Particularly important and significant is the encounter with the great Italian masters of the ‘400 ; Bellini, Giorgione, followed by Tiziano and Tiepolo, allowed me to form my own painting technique and at the same time maintain a connection with the high tradition of my country, but with a more surreal, metaphysical and symbolist key. I joined several exhibitions in Italy, New York(“new art Showcase”, Limner Gallery), London and China.

“Walking on my path I try to put trampolines to let people jump to different frequencies and, in a thrill made of Honey pins, get a glimpse of eternity”.

The human sense

Francesco Grillo might be placed into a figurative context where metaphysical and surrealistic places bring our minds to a mental image. Consequently, his art aim at reaching the centrality of the image as a mean of communication and measure of the interior world. Grillo works on persistence of the memory by intensifying the research on faces and objects and estranging from the context in which they are located. In addition, they are surrounded by a silent aura which seems to create a status of suspension. His works represent a new personal research that looks towards Metaphysics and Surrealism, on the other hand they differentiate themselves for a lyric interest in object s and in meditation upon the Italian painting in the fifteenth century. Francesco Grillo’s characters, instead, put forward again a very deep message, a message about the humanity of art and beauty, which go over the daily of the “ugly” term, over the technology, over the digital icons of a cybernetic cold and anonymous space.
