As far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by light and its colors…
As a child, I loved to watch the magical happiness of a pink sky revealing itself at dawn, the bright yellow glow of the sun, the transition from gray to blue in the clouds, the undulations of green in the foliage, the slow unfolding of red in the beauty of a rose, the depth of the blues in the sea, the subtle flavors of violet in wines,
the shades of brown in autumn, the explosion of gold at sunset, the variations of white in the pristine whiteness of snow, not to mention the power of the black of the night…
At the age of 10, I discovered silk painting and the transformation of colors that flow, weave, and mingle with the brush, the breath, and grains of salt… I believe that from that moment, I never stopped coloring, doodling, sketching, drawing, weaving, and painting on a corner of a table, a tablecloth, in the middle of a notebook or a report, then with my own children and even in my professional life…
Self-taught, I tested different techniques, pencil, charcoal, ink, collages, pastels, watercolors, oil, acrylic, in an attempt to discover how to transpose what I saw and, above all, felt…
Today, I feel like a painter of light. I find my inspiration in nature, during my travels around the world and in my own inner journeys. Then, I try to transcribe the movement of life and my inner movement in the gesture; I try to give life to the colors and to translate the energy of the moment that animates me into the material. I work in successive layers, with questions, and time is suspended until completion; I observe, I listen to the material, I search, I follow the gesture, I get lost, I tame the detours, I soak in and let myself be carried away until the moment when from this superposition of colors and the improvisation of the gesture, a vibration is born that conveys the emotion I wanted to share, until that magical moment when finally my canvas vibrates with its own light…
