Pierpaolo Mancinelli

Pierpaolo Mancinelli has always embraced experimentation. In the 90s, he combined his passion for art with digital tools when software was still basic, and printing relied on pen plotters, leaving visible traces of the pen’s movement. Unlike photographers who edit images digitally, he sought to replace the traditional brush with a digital one.

While computers streamline graphic work, capturing the essence of abstract art without physical texture is more challenging. However, the biggest challenge remains the creation of the idea itself. For him, technique is just a tool—whether digital or traditional, what truly matters is making art. The medium is secondary; the message is what counts.
