Artist’s Statement

I was born in Seine-et-Marne, France, in 1955, and began painting at the age of fifteen, guided by local artists. I consider myself to be largely self-taught, having developed my skills outside of formal education.

Alongside my artistic practice, I worked as a Special Educator and Art Therapist, which provided both moral and financial support throughout my career, until my retirement.

My current artistic approach revolves around the exploration of dualities: constructed/deconstructed, composition/decomposition, painted/unpainted. I employ vertical, diagonal, and horizontal lines, creating tensions within flat, trapezoidal perspectives of color. These elements are often assembled in pairs or groups of three, resulting in diptychs or triptychs for presentation.
