Danguole Serstinskaja

Danguole Šerstinskaja is an internationally recognized artist from Lithuania. Her main technique is oil on paper, using the dry brush method — a very rare and complex approach that requires great precision and patience. Only a handful of professional artists worldwide have mastered this technique.

She creates hyperrealistic animal portraits, most often in black and white, with a strong focus on expressing emotion, character, and vitality in the gaze. Although she also works with other media, the dry brush style has become her signature.

Animals are an essential part of her life, and in her artworks, she portrays them with love and respect, as equals to humans. It is important to her to convey not only their external beauty but also their inner world — calmness, sadness, or joy. Her goal is for the viewer to look at the painting and feel an emotional connection with the animal, as if looking into its soul.

Throughout her artistic journey, Danguole has received more than 80 international awards in global art competitions.
