Carmen Ferrando

Carmen Ferrando, 1974, Benidorm, Alicante.
Business Administration and Management from the University of Alicante, Master in Digital Commerce and ecommerce. Master in Digital Marketing .
I started painting at the age of 3 with my father in oil, still life and painting directly from nature, and during my childhood I studied drawing at the Altea School of Art,and later watercolor, charcoal and pastel.
Later I studied Furniture Restoration and started working on furniture in Art Schools in Alicante.
Little by little I have been creating my personal style until consolidating my art in the postulates of oil, realism and hyperrealism, focusing on the sea, my true passion.
I try to capture each unique and wonderful moment through my works. I try to make the viewer feel, when looking at it, a similar well-being, peace and serenity that moves him. I intend to provide a real window to the sea, where you can smell the salty air, listen to the crashing waves and feel the cold splashes of Mediterranean spray while standing at the water’s edge.

I was born surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, on the Spanish Costa Blanca, andI have always lived like this, among Mediterranean cities. My trips through the Aegean and Adriatic are my great source of inspiration and peace for me, mainly Formentera in the Balearic Islands and Mykonos in the Cyclades Islands. The common link in my paintings is always sunlight and its effect on water. I strive to capture it in its various forms, so that it is an element of life, providing well-being,peace and enrichment to the viewer.
The sparkles created by sunlight on the surface of the water, the amazing force behind a wave, the tiny windows of translucency flickering within for a fraction of a second just before crashing onto the shore are truly amazing. Painting is a means to express my emotions, a source of balance and serenity. Each painting is a journey:my idea corresponds to my initial emotional state and it will evolve during the creation. The final point only exists when I feel in harmony with the painting.
