Aurora Bernardo
My works are characterized by a broad plastic language, rooted in organic abstraction, transitioning between drawing and painting, utilizing a variety of materials and techniques, including acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, and resin. This diversity allows me to create compositions that sometimes challenge perception, balancing the tension between abstraction and figuration, between the representational and the geometric. In each work, I strive to connect distinct elements, instigating the viewer to actively participate in the construction of meanings and emotions, embarking on an introspective journey, where they can not only observe, but feel and interact with what is presented to them. My expectation is that each painting is not merely an image, but a space of encounter and dialogue, where art becomes a bridge between the self and the other, between the individual and the universal. I believe that art should not only reflect reality, but also question and expand it.
