Seemingly lost in thought, the protagonist of this contemplative portrait is elegant in a relaxed, careless way, sharing her calm nostalgia for summer with the quiet, drowsy cityscape. It is a study of a woman at her leisure against a background of smoothly fused fluid frames of chilly gentle grey interior and autumn-coloured outdoors, soaked in the last dim flickers of the setting sun.

Starting with self-stretched natural canvas I even out the surface with several layers of primer, then use a variety of brushes and palette knives to apply oil paint to achieve a bold, textured effect.
