“I did not arrive at art. I continued into it.”
Twenty years of civil engineering left me fluent in a language of lines, loads and calculated tensions. When I began to make images, that language did not disappear — it transformed. The blueprint became the canvas. The dimension line became the mark that holds what words cannot.
I work within the Neoplasticist tradition — Mondrian, Malevich, the Bauhaus. But the line in my work comes from somewhere none of them knew: from two decades of structural drawing on real construction sites. It was never a choice between engineering and art. It was always the same language, waiting to describe something else.
What interests me is the threshold — the moment between intention and what actually emerges. A colour appears at an intersection that was not chosen. These are not mistakes. They are the work.
Lines hold what words cannot.
